ABOUT THIS ROLE
PEAK6 was brought to life by the idea that success is driven by technology and a strong collaborative process. The passion for that idea powers our firm still, 20 years later. We’re seeking a dynamic Procurement Manager to lead the strategic sourcing of technology and indirect categories, including hardware, software, licensing, services, telecommunications, and more. If you have a passion for building value, optimizing supplier relationships, and driving cost-effective solutions, we want you on our team. Working at PEAK6 means that you’ll always be presented with a variety of new possibilities as you continue to enhance your skills.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Category Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies to optimize spend across IT and indirect categories, leveraging supplier partnerships and delivering impactful cost-saving initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple departments, using your expertise to provide the best overall value to the business. Lead cross-functional teams to ensure that sourcing strategies align with company objectives, leveraging cutting-edge IoT solutions.
Supplier and Contract Management: Oversee and advise on contract structures, particularly in the realm of technical services and software licensing agreements. Maintain strong supplier relationships to align business goals, reduce risk, and ensure contract compliance. Strategy development to pricing negotiations, contract reviews, licensing, and equipment maintenance—ensuring every deal delivers both value and quality.
Cost Optimization: Lead small- and large-scale sourcing initiatives to achieve significant cost reductions while maintaining and improving supplier quality, service levels, and overall performance.
Innovation and Market Insight: Apply industry best practices and analyze market trends to create forward-thinking, strategic sourcing solutions that meet both current and future business needs. Stay ahead of trends in IT and technology sourcing to ensure continuous improvement.
Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to internal business partners, guiding them in the acquisition of products and services with a focus on value, risk mitigation, and cost control.
Project Management & Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic project management to cross-functional teams throughout the sourcing process, ensuring clarity, alignment, and timely delivery of sourcing solutions.
Risk Mitigation: Perform risk assessments and proactively address potential risks to the organization through strategic supplier management, contract negotiation, and robust market intelligence.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key business leaders to gather requirements, align on specifications, and incorporate those into sourcing strategies that drive supplier selections and procurement decisions.
IT Category Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related procurement activities, managing relationships with suppliers and overseeing contractual and commercial topics.
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, ideally with a focus on IT and technology sourcing. Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and category strategy development is essential.
Procurement Expertise: Proven success in contract negotiation, contract review, and full lifecycle sourcing processes, especially in the areas of IT procurement, software licensing, and technical services.
Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and influence through clear, data-driven communication. Effective at building and nurturing relationships both within and outside the organization.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from conception to completion, in a fast-paced team environment.
Market Insight: Demonstrated ability to stay on top of market trends, conduct benchmarking, and continuously optimize supplier performance and pricing.
Preferred Qualifications: NetSuite, Advance Excel, Six Sigma or Lean Certification is a plus, adding value to our continuous improvement philosophy.
